The Club ran its first sausage sizzle at Mentone Bunnings on 6th of August.
Although the weather bureau predicted rain we had a sunny day which helped bring the crowds. And crowds there were! A couple of runs to Aldi were necessary to replenish supplies.
Our cooks Wayne Imlach, Graham Jones, Michael Ruhsam and Mario Barbieri had to work hard to keep up orders. Sue Halliwell, Claire McConnell, and Graham Owens served up the sausages and onions, while Noel McConnell and Howard Bishop kept the orders coming and handled the money. Helen Ruhsam and Kaye Musgrove were our charming greeters keeping the people coming, and directing the flow of foot traffic.
Many thanks to our volunteers who worked so hard to make the day a success. There were others who also volunteered and were emergencies. So thanks to them as well. A lot of behind the scenes preparation occurred prior to the day, which Helen, Michael and Dennis handled, ensuring the day went smoothly.
All in all a great day with the benefit that we made $2154 for the club.
