Our annual Christmas party was held on Tuesday 3 December, and as usual was a great family event. The hall looked fabulous, with the Christmas tree, decorations, and the sound of Christmas carols all creating a festive atmosphere.
Santa was invited by one of our Bowman Street neighbours, Jay Parker, and distributed the gifts to the children. Pauline was a wonderful elf helper, and the children loved meeting Santa and receiving their gifts. Georgia and Xavier did a fabulous job of wrapping the presents, so thanks to them, and of course Jackie.
Guests enjoyed the range of BBQ meat cooked by our hard-working chefs Geoff and Peter, who made sure that there was plenty there for our guests. There was also a selection of salads and dessert slices. Judging by those who came back for seconds, the meal was thoroughly enjoyed.
Stuart looked after the bar, and made sure everyone was looked after, within the framework of the responsible serving of alcohol.
The raffle was for a large Christmas hamper, won by the Dunn family, a smaller hamper, won by Peter B, and a selection of panettone won by Matt. Well done to all.
Randolph, Rudolph’s cheeky younger brother, was finally found by Byron’s gorgeous grandchildren aboard Halcyon Song, and enjoyed an afternoon tea on board with Randolph, the Armchair Sailor.
Again thanks to our usual volunteers who all helped with providing the food, set up, on the day, and the cleanup. Without these volunteers, we could not hold these functions.
