The weather may have been gloomy, but this year’s Christmas celebrations were anything but. Ninety adults and 20 children enjoyed the festivities with music by the Dene Ford trio, face painting and balloon shapes for the children, and dinner provided by the Wicked Spud.
Paul Tozer arranged for Santa to bring gifts for the children, helped by elf Georgia. Jamie and Jacquie assisted Santa with obtaining the gifts for the children and did a great job. Many thanks to Paul for doing that.
There seemed to be an added dimension with people glad to be able to celebrate with friends and family after such a long time of restrictions. Peter and Gerry Banham, Wayne Imlach, Peter Follett, Sue Halliwell and Michelle James all worked behind the bar. Many thanks to them for looking after everyone so well.
As usual there is a team of volunteers working behind the scenes, without whom these functions could not run. So, much appreciation to the Banham’s, Dennis and Fay O’Hara, Helen and Michael Ruhsam, Mario and Lorraine Barbieri and Janine Chalmers for all their help setting up and clearing up afterwards. My apologies to anyone I have neglected to mention.
So Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year to all.
Looking forward to seeing you all in the New Year
