Cruise Lake Eildon - March 2022
Advice is given that Club member Garry Spencer is taking his boat to Lake Eildon, living on the water, fishing, touring and relaxing for a few weeks, and invites other Club members (and other boat owners) who would like to do the same in their boats, travelling together for all or part of the time, around the Lake, where this is desired.
Eildon is a large expanse of man-made lake with a shore line of about 500 km; when full it has x6 the water capacity of Sydney Harbour; current water level is over 85%; this occurs only about 1 year in 10-20 years so this is a good opportunity to see it at its best.
It is a very scenic area being mostly surrounded by National Park, with a Ranger presence on shore and on the water. It is home to a large fleet of houseboats and water skiers but we expect it to be fairly quiet as this is not school holiday time.
A number of towns are located around the Lake, some 20-30 mins drive away; there is some local supply of fuel and other goods; details of this can be supplied.
Garry has a number of charts and maps that you may care to copy.
