June 6 Members Meeting will be a Flare Night.

NOT the flare night of the past where time-expired flares were set off.

New regulations now define time-expired flares as explosives and their disposal is strictly controlled.

Instead, Education Officers from Safe Transport Victoria - Maritime will be delivering a safety seminar on how to correctly use and dispose of Hand-held orange and red distress flares inclusive of a question-and-answer session. The seminar will conclude with a live demonstration of a hand-held red & orange flare. See the attached flyer.

The evening will also contain an information session on the proposed changes to the Marine Safety Regulations due to come into effect on 1stJuly 2023. So come along and get up-to-date on the latest regulations.

Members of the Mordialloc Sailing Club and the Mordialloc Boating and Angling Club have also been invited.

DO NOT BRING YOUR EXPIRED FLARES AS WE HAVE NO FACILITIES TO DISPOSE OF, OR STORE THEM!
