As I write this note to members it’s hard not to feel a sense of intrepedation as we wait hourly, daily for some positive news on the Covid lockdown front.
One thing is for sure, even if we come out of lockdown on Friday morning there will be an extended period of time afterwards with some form of restrictions on events, gatherings etc.. This of course will have an effect on Club access and any social events planned.
I am certainly no expert and my guess is as good as any but I’m very confident that even if there is a need to extend this lockdown past Friday we won’t be forced to be locked down for months as we were last time round which is a good thing.
The Committee will be working behind the scenes to make sure the members remain safe and the club remains compliant for as long as any Government restrictions remain in place.
Please keep an eye on the emails as Dennis sends out regular detailed information as often as deemed necessary.
As usual, there will still be plenty going on behind the scenes.
June general meeting is cancelled – June Committee meeting to be held via zoom.
July general meeting still scheduled to go ahead. This will be a great meeting with Peter Banham and the crew giving us a run down on their Port Phillip to Gippsland adventures on Lady Dorothy.
Armchair Sailor will kick back in and Dennis is currently working on getting more info on this on to our website for members to interact with, and the Armchair Sailor himself may even appear at the July meeting.
This is also a timely reminder that membership fees will be sent out in July. The Committee will be discussing and signing off on the fee schedule at our next Committee meeting and at this stage we don’t envisage an increase for the new season.
So for now please take care of yourself and your families while we take care of the Club and of course nurture Forever Young who seems to be happy locked down on the slip under multiple heat lamps on these cool mornings. 😊
Oh yeah, as my kids kindly reminded me this morning – pinch and a punch !! Can you believe it’s June already?
